Yield:3-4 servings 1x
Ingredients
Scale
6 dates
36–48 pecan halves
1/2 cup dark chocolate (70% cocoa), melted
*optional – sea salt, graham cracker crumbs or any creative toppings you desire
Instructions
slice the dates in half
press 3-4 pecan halves into each date half. This will make the “turtle” legs
Melt the dark chocolate over low heat or in the microwave for 30-45 second increments. It can be helpful to add some coconut oil to help the chocolate melt well. This is optional. If using, only 1/2-1 tsp of coconut oil is needed.
Cover a baking sheet/pan with parchment paper. Place the pecan-filled dates on the parchment paper, with adequate space in between
Drizzle the dark chocolate over top (or dip into the chocolate for a different look). Sprinkle with a little salt, or any desired toppings.
Eat warm, or allow to cool in the fridge for 30 minutes before eating
